A Few Tips on Color Selection:
Relax, choosing colors isn't that hard!
Discover your preferences! Look at your furniture, clothes, artwork, and other things you own
Find inspiration from neighbors, relatives, or friends homes you love
Find inspiration from magazines you like, trade shows, or painting brochures from major paint retailers
Don't trust the Internet, colors always look different in your own home!
Don't pick a color at the store and "just go for it!"
Sample, sample, sample! Today's retailers offer affordable sample sizes to put on your walls
Put samples on multiple walls, in about 2' by 2' sizes, preferably right against the trim so it "ties" together
When you do look at colors in your own home, look at the them during the "time of day" you'd be in the room, for example, analyze bedroom colors at night, kitchens in morning, dining rooms in the evening...
